Color Block

Color Block is another Spring/Summer 2011 trend series video and post. This is turning out to be a lot of fun. I normally despise wearing too much color, but this season there has been a lot of color blocking. What I like about it this time around is that it’s done minimally, which sort of makes up for wearing a bright coral bottom with a Kelly green top, if you know what I mean.

Here are the collections that I had my eye on:

Caroline Herrera, Etro, Lanvin and Issa (style.com)

Don’t ask me why they all have pink except for one, I’m actually more into wearing red. Color blocking was seen in done in different ways from draped fabrics to more structured pieces. In any case, accessories were kept minimal so as not to distract from the bold color palettes, it’s very refreshing after a long winter (a winter that is still not leaving Montreal for a little while).

Here was my take:

Outfit 1:
raspberry tube dress – American Apparel
silk blue t-shirt – California Select Vintage
gray pointed sling backs – Nine West
feather necklace – Forever 21
purse – Marc by Marc Jacobs

Outfit2 :
pink dress – Gap
purse – mom’s closet
metallic belt – H&M
satin pumps – Nine West
ring – Forever 21

Outfit 3:
red bandeau dress – American Apparel
lace top – Forever 21
nude buckle wedges – ASOS
envelope purse – California Select Vintage
cross earrings – Forever 21

Thanks for watching,

xx
