Old Hollywood Waves

295830_200x225
Lately, I’ve been obsessed with old Hollywood hair and make-up. A lot of celebrities and store fashion trends have been inspired by the golden years. We’ve seen a lot of winged liner and statement lips. Soft waves seem to be making a bit of a come back, particularly those inspired by the old Hollywood era.

I filmed a more subtle version of this soft waved look before (you may watch that here). However, this time I was particularly influenced after watching “Born to Die” which is Lana Del Rey’s new music video.

I’m utterly obsessed with her wardrobe, hair and make-up in this video! The whole thing screams effortless glam, which is totally my cup of tea.

I’ve also seen Megan Fox rocking the look, just throwing that out there. It goes to show that depending on your preferences, you can be creative about where you want the part and how loose or tight you want the waves to be. The look will also vary depending on the direction of which you place the rollers in. You can also vary the way you brush out the curls, making the look come out differently each time.

Here’s my version:

What I used: A paddle brush / Conair Infinity Hot Rollers / Biosilk Silk Therapy Serum / any hair spray (if needed)

The same look can be achieved with a wide barrel curling iron. The only thing you would need to do it pin each strand after curling so as to allow the curls to set.

Let me know what you think,

xx
