Mint Green

I haven’t done lookbook videos, or as I like to call them “Stealing Style” videos, in a long time. I’ve been busy cleaning out my closet and prepping over 40 pieces that are for an up coming blog sale, stay tuned for that!

We all know pastels and mint greens are one of the it trends this season. I compiled a couple of ways I like to wear the trend, without breaking the bank! I’ve featured this top I purchased a couple of weeks ago for around $12 at Forever 21. I know! I’m sorry! A couple of weeks in Forever 21 time is actually centuries ago, fear not because they have plenty of other cheap mint pieces. I wouldn’t invest too much in this trend since I doubt it will be in next summer, who knows.

In my first outfit, I decided to do some subtle pastel colour blocking. We’re all familiar with that term since last year, be sure to check out my previous colour blocking video. I’ve paired the mint crochet top with a pair of light pink shorts and a chambray or denim button down shirt. A light denim works as a substitute for baby blue, just with added texture. It’s up to you whether you pair the look with gold, silver or rose gold accessories. I love mixing finishes, but I prefer mint green with either rose gold or silver accessories.

In my second outfit, I’ve opted for a stripped skirt. I purchased the skirt from Zara a few years ago in a summer sale for under 10$. Strips are a classic touch in the summer, think nautical, it’s an undying and reoccurring trend. Again, I’ve paired the look with my favourite denim button down and finished off with some tanned sling back sandals. Chokers are a huge trend this year as well, I purchased this antique looking one from Forever 21.

Finally, for the third look, I paired the mint green top with a black maxi skirt. There’s nothing wrong with wearing black for summer as long as your wearing a light fabric. Another important tip in the summer is to pair black with light colours, otherwise you might look a bit drab. In this case, the almost all black ensemble is woken up by the bright fresh mint colour of my top.
