Little Black Romper

Rompers have been a favourite summer staple of mine since 2010. Lately, in Montreal, the weather has gotten so hot! I finally got the perfect opportunity to film and blog about my two favourite ways to wear my little black romper. These are not ground breaking styling tips, but it’s easy to forget the versatility of basic wardrobe pieces. I’ve also mentioned some alternative tips and tricks at staying stylish while beating the heat.

You can dress a romper up or down, but I prefer to wear casual outfits during the daytime. When wearing a plain piece like this, feel free to wear outerwear over it. Just because it’s summer, doesn’t mean that layering isn’t an option. If it’s too hot for a cardigan, opt for a sheer and light weight open jacket. Another option would be to wear something sleeveless such as a frayed mint denim vest, because it keeps your arms cool while still adding a pop of colour to your outfit.

I opted for a thrifted top that I purchased last year at Value Village. You’ll often find sets of matching shorts and tops that come together for a very affordable price at thrift stores, this particular shirt came with a matching skirt.

My second preferred way of styling a romper is wearing an oversized top over it. This effortless turns your one piece romper into standard shorts. The top I’m wearing over top is from H&M and was purchased for a mere $6.
