Hey, hey! I got a TopBox in the mail a few weeks ago and I only had the opportunity to take pictures for this post much later, sorry. This is the March 2013 TopBox, I got the regular box this month because I forgot to select a privé box.
To be honest, the privé boxes did not appeal to me this month, but it’s nice to know what you are going to get. It is worth mentioning that if you submit a request for a privé box, there is still a possibility that you will not receive one because it depends entirely on random selection and the quantity of privé boxes available.
March 2013 TopBox
Aveda Carribbean Therapy Body Creme
The Carribbean Therapy cream by Aveda has mango, cocoa butter and warm island aromas. This cream is meant to leave skin soft and conditioned. I’m never impressed when subscription services hand out samples of body lotion. There isn’t enough product in this sample for the entire body (and by entire body, I mean both arms and legs, at the very least). We received a 25 mL sample and the full size costs $42 for 200 mL.
L’Oréal Professionnel Mythic Oil
L’Oréal launched its new Mythic Oil line and we received a sample of the oil. It is an anti-frizz oil, which claims to offer nourishment, discipline and a taming effect to the hair. I’m happy that TopBox included a new product. Due to the price of the product, it’s nice to have a chance to try it out before splurging on a full size. We received two samples of 3 mL, the full size is 125 mL for $26.
Marc Jacobs Fragrances
The box also contained a sample pack of 3 Marc Jacobs fragrances; Daisy, Daisy Eau So Fresh and Lola. I personally own the full size of Lola (watch my perfume collection video). My gripe about this was the little pouch that came with the fragrances; it was horribly cheap, to put it as frank as possible. The little pouch is made of rubbery misshaped plastic of sorts, and I’m sure that most would agree that TopBox subscribers could make do without the waste. Other than that, I’m always happy to receive perfume samples.
MaskerAide Hydrating Facial Sheet Masks
Lastly, the March Topbox included a MaskerAide Hydrating Facial Sheet Mask. This one in particular is the Pre Party Prep, which is a mask intended for brightening, priming and energizing the skin. I’ve never heard of this brand before nor tried a sheet mask before, so this should be interesting. We received one mask, which retails for $4.99 – the mask also comes in a 4-pack for $19 at TopBox.ca.
My final thoughts about this box, meh! I was not very impressed, there has not been a regular TopBox that has impressed me since I first subscribed to this service. This service costs $12 a month and there is a long waiting list for it – I am still waiting for a regular box to wow me and serve as justification for the hype!
Are you subscribed to TopBox? If so, what did you receive in your box, what are your thoughts?
