Firstly, where the hell did June go, anyway? The weather in Montreal was not agreeable, but I tried to make the most of it by wearing bright nails, bronzer and tinted moisturizer.
June Beauty Favorites
Elizabeth Arden Pure Finish Powder Bronzer – Deep Radiance
It’s no secret that I enjoy this bronzer, since it makes an appearance in almost every video. It isn’t too dramatic like other bronzers, it’s subtle in pigmentation, but it still packs a punch. The texture is fine and smooth. I also like the subtle shimmers in it because they help make my skin luminous. I also have the one in Soft Radiance, see swatches here.
Hourglass Illusion Tinted Moisturizer – Sand Beige
Again, no surprise. I’ve raved about this product time and time again, I even did a foundation routine video with it. However, I’m thinking of getting a new base or foundation for the rest of summer.
The Hourglass works perfectly for my skin, up until it starts to get too hot. This June, we had a lot of cold and rainy weather and this tinted moisturizer offers up enough coverage while maintaining my skin moisturized and luminous looking.
Now that it is getting a lot more humid and hot out, I’m thinking about trying out either the Makeup Forever Mat Velvet Matifying Foundation or the Hourglass Immaculate Liquid Powder Foundation. Any thoughts? I have extremely oily skin, which is why I am considering either of the two.
Lancôme Baume in Love – Urban Ballet
Initially, I saw these in Pharmaprix (otherwise known as Shoppers Drug Mart) and thought nothing of them. Then I received one as a PR sample and now it lives in my purse.
I love the subtle color it gives to my lips while keeping them moisturized. The texture is more slippery and light compared to the Dior Addict Lip Glow (not the same concept, but you catch my drift). I did a post with Lancôme In Love collection swatches here.
MAC Paint Pot – Painterly
A few months ago, I convinced my mom to get the paint pot in Soft Ocre, which works well for skin with yellow undertones. I probably should have picked up Soft Ocre instead of Painterly, but I didn’t know better when I got this product (years ago).
This paint pot is a staple in my collection. Yes, I still use the Urban Decay primer potion and sometimes I switch things up. However, whenever I want to even out my eyelids, this is my go to base. I love it.
CoverGirl Clump Crusher Mascara
It isn’t absolutely clump free or ground breaking, but it’s definitely a good mascara.
Bare in mind that I have naturally long lashes and volume isn’t an issue for me. I suppose I’m lucky in those aspects, most mascaras work for me.
I love mascaras than lengthen and separate for everyday and I like to save the volumizing mascaras for night.
Essie – Cute as a Button
Last year, I was all about Essie fear or desire and now this! Where has this color been all of my life? Sometimes it looks pink, sometimes it looks orange, but it always looks fabulous as a manicure or pedicure. It’s just the perfect coral for summer.
Dior Rosy Glow Healthy Glow Awakening Blush
I was skeptical to purchase this back in March because I thought it wouldn’t work with my skin tone. I was afraid this blush would be one of those products that only works well for pale skin, but I was wrong.
It is a blush that adapts to your skin, similar to the way that the Dior Addict lip Glow adapts to the shade of your lips. it turns into a pretty and slightly cool toned soft pink on me. I wonder how it will look with a tan!
H&M Silver Chandelier Earrings
This is a non beauty favorite that I just had to throw into the mix. I have had these earrings since 2010. I constantly reach for them, although I haven’t been into earrings lately. These earrings manage to stand out, despite me having long and huge hair!
What are your summer beauty favorites or essentials? Have you tried any of the items I mentioned?
