November Beauty Favorites

I’ve never been one to keep up with monthly favorites because I get stuck in beauty ruts. I use the same products consistently for months on end. I think it would be rather boring to tell you about the same beauty favorites every month, am I right?

Make Up For Ever HD foundation 118

I posted a review about this foundation several months ago. What I love about it is how it wears on the skin. It’s not a heavy foundation unless you want it to be, it’s all about how you use it. I wear it with a light hand over my favorite concealer at the moment. It feels like second skin.

I’ve been applying it with the Real Techniques Contour Brush (reviewed here).

Sonia Kashuk Hidden Agenda Concealer Palette Light 07

Thanks to Target opening across Canada, we now have the opportunity to try out this well coveted concealer quad. For the price, the texture is creamy and covers blemishes and dark circles with ease. I really can’t complain, except it’s often sold out in both shades light and medium (swatches here).

NARS Blush Deep Throat

Ever since getting my first NARS blush I have been hooked to the brand. It must be that French sophistication or something. Deep Throat is easier to wear than it’s raved and better known cousin, Orgasm. DT is more faint and demure, but she wears well with a smoky eye and/or a bold lip and even on days when you need a pretty flush peachy pink.

MAC eye shadow palette

I’ve been neglecting my MAC eye shadows since falling in love with Urban Decay and Inglot eye shadows. To be honest, there are shadows that perform better for the price but MAC being less pigmented isn’t always a bad thing. They do great neutral shades that don’t over apply or have too much fall out.

For this reason, I’ve been loving my new pro palette. I switched offer to the new palette and I keep it handy in my top drawer. The clear cover makes a difference, I’m definitely a visual person – how about you?

Elizabeth Arden eye shadow Sandstone

Long time favorite, MAC Bisque, step aside! Sandstone, similar to Bisque, makes a good all over lid color and matte highlight. Sandstone is a warmer pale shade that has somewhat of a peach undertone (swatch here).

Dior Addict 751 Exotique

I bought this lippie back in the spring and never wore it much. I’m in love with Dior Addict 626 Androgyne too, but Exotique brings the life back into my complexion when my skin looks drab. Seriously, if you’ve ever had a bad night of sleep – just slap on some pink lipstick and a pink blush *pouff* you have be resurrected.

Elizabeth Arden Untold perfume

Untold is a perfume that wears like an eau de toilet, it’s subtle and non-intrusive. I’ve mentioned before that I adore Paco Robanne Black Xs and Narciso Rodriguez for her, but those fragrances are a little too strong for work. This fragrances feels sophisticated and elegant without being over powering, the notes are:

  • Top: Black Currant LMR*, Bergamot, Pink Pepper, Pear
  • Mid: Gardenia, Peony, Jasmine LMR*
  • Base: Sandalwood, Patchouli Heart LMR*, Musk, Amber
