I was approached to pick out three skin care items from Elizabeth Arden to try out and review. Being the lip junkie that I am, one of the items I picked was the Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream Lip Protectant Stick Sheer Tint Sunscreen SPF 15 in Blush. This post will include the product claims, lip swatches and review.
The winter months are very harsh on my lips. I’m rarely found without a lip balm in my purse. I love experimenting with products that offer both aesthetic and moisturising benefits: I love the Dior Lip Glow, tried the Maybelline Baby Lips and Lancôme Baume In Love. You get the picture!
It’s from the same line as the Eight Hour Cream Skin Protectant, which is a classic in it’s own right. Similar to most sheer tinted lip balm products, it can be worn alone or under lipstick.
Elizabeth Arden Lip Protectant Stick Sheer Tint in Blush
- Helps moisturize, soften and smooth lips
- Relieves chapping and cracking
- Helps guard against the damaging effects of UV exposure with SPF 15
- Is available in a four sheer shades (or without a tint)
- Vitamin E (Tocopheryl Acetate)
- Petrolatum, Padimate, Oxybenzone
- Ricinus Communis (Castor) Seed Oil and more
This sheer tinted lip balm moisturises the lips and offers even coverage of a pretty blush tint to the lips. I do have dry and damaged lips in the photo above and there are some areas where the product has settled between the cracks of my lips. This isn’t a light balm, but it wears comfortably.
In the picture below, taken further away, the settling is hardly noticeable. Other than that, I don’t have anything negative to say.
Overall, I enjoy using this product both alone and under other lipsticks, but I’m not keen on the packaging (EA does some really nice packaging in their other ranges). It moisturises the lips, feels creamy and has a non-greasy feel when compared to other tinted lip balms on the market.
What is your favorite sheer tinted lip balm or sheer lipstick?
