Red and Gold V Manicure

I decided to try something a little different with my nail art for this manicure Monday post and did a red and gold v manicure. It is similar to a French manicure, but the tips are drawn in a v-shape.

You may be familiar with the Lana Del Rey variation of this manicure, where the V-shape starts further up the length of the nail – but this is different. You can get creative and experiment with the v-sahpe a bit. Since I have my nails filed in an almond shape, I decided to only do the tips.

These are quite easy to do, but a little time consuming. First apply a base coat. Next apply a red nail polish, I applied two coats of OPI Lost On Lombard. Then, to create the v-shaped tips of the v manicure, I used the brush end of my Avon Dual Ended Nail Brush and Dotting Tool to apply the gold tips, Mark Nailed It in Gleam Scene. Lastly, I used my new favorite base coat; the Cnd Stickey Base Coat.

I think these are perfect for Valentine’s Day or even for a Wonder Woman Halloween nail look.

What do you think? How would you spice up your French manicure?
