I like to substitute my lip stick for a lip liner paired with a gloss or balm so today we’ll be looking at the Elizabeth Arden Smooth Line Lip Pencil. I have the shades Coral and Taupe which make great neutrals.
Elizabeth Arden Smooth Line Lip Pencil
This precision liner has a pencil on one end and has a brush tip on the other, which helps blend and fill lips easily. It comes in 7 shades.
size 0.03 oz or 1.05 g | Smooth Line Lip Pencil Coral 02 and Taupe 03
- Precision liner for perfectly defined lips
- Sharpens to a fine point
- Brush tip blends and fills easily
- Complements Color Intrigue Lipstick colors
Application & Uses
Apply by tracing the V of your cupid’s bow and then move on to lining the outer corners. Line the outer edge of the lips with feather-like strokes. Use the brush tip to smudge lip line creating a more natural look or to blend the lipstick with the lip liner.
Smooth Line Lip Pencil Swatches
In the swatches above, the first swatch is the Smooth Line Lip Pencil in Taupe 03 and the second is Coral 02.
Taupe 03 actually looks like a brown tea rose shade. The Coral 02 lip liner isn’t what you would normally thing of as a coral. It’s more like a burned orange-red rather than a tropical bright coral shade.
I definitely have creamier lip liners in my collection, however, the drier texture of these lip liners allow the color to adhere well to the lips. Despite the fact that these feel dry, they apply smoothly, last long on the lips and don’t smudge. The product is weightless on the lips.
These Smooth Line Lip Pencils are prefect for wearing under lipstick, lip gloss or lip balm. Both shades look very natural on me with either a nude or sheer lip color over top.
