Lancome L’Absolu Creme de Mat Swatch & Review

When Ellie and I headed off to the L’Oreal sale this Spring, I was not prepared to re-encounter Lancome’s Fall 2012 Midnight Rose Collection. One of my favourite products in that collection was the Creme de Mat matte lip cream.

They reminded me of everything I wanted the NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams to be. Sure, the NYX ones are nice and they come in a variety of colours, but they are not as long lasting as the Lancome version. If price is your concern, then you may want to look to the Essence Stay Matt Lip Creams which are better and even cheaper than NYX.

Prune Elixir is a dark plum, Potion D’Amour is a mid-deep red and lastly, Magie Pourpre is a bright magenta. Overall, Magie Pourpre had the best consistency. Prune Elixir was difficult to apply evenly on the lips and Potion D’Amour is somewhere in the middle.

I didn’t need to have all three, but I was hoping I would love the purple and red as much as the pink – can you blame a girl for trying?

What are your favourite matte lip products?
