We thought the concept was interesting because we have different complexions and features. Rachel is blonde, has lighter skin and blue eyes, whereas I have an olive skin tone with dark hair and dark eyes.

Can you tell I’m all over coral this summer? But then again, who isn’t!?
My first favorite is a purple lipstick from Revlon; Berry Haute is one of those rare drugstore gems. It’s not a color typically found in a drugstore line. It’s unique, flattering and wearable in pretty much every season when you adjust your eye/face makeup to suit the occasion. This lipstick is moisturising and comfortable to wear, has a cream finish that is a bit on the sheer side, but it’s buildable.
NYX matte lipstick in Indie Flick is a bright orange that leans a bit red, but not much to be honest. It didn’t show up true to color in the video above, but here is a swatch post I did with it recently. It’s less comfortable than a cream finish, but certainly not as drying as a MAC retro matte finish. It’s a great summer hue for a lazy makeup day, because you don’t need to wear much makeup with it.
Smooth Berry is an incredible matte lip cream by essence, a brand which constantly impresses me with quality products at a very affordable price point. It’s a bright color without being intimidating to wear. You could easily wear this lip color to work or school without feeling over done or like you will stand-out too much. I found that when I dab this lip cream with a tissue after application, it becomes even more matte, which makes it more subdued.
Lancôme’s Rose Boudoir is the perfect pick-me-up for my complexion. I often get compliments left or right when I wear this color with pale skin in the Spring or a tan in the Summer. I got it last year when the Rouge In Love lipsticks first came out and never looked back. This lipstick has a comfortable cream finish.
Lastly, we have Corail Incandescent, another beautiful coral! This one just makes my lips look juicy (no innuendo implied, that’s dirty). This lipstick is rich in pigment and ultra shiny without adding a lip gloss. It has a tendency to slip outside of the lip line if you are not careful, but other than that, this highly moisturising formula is comfortable to wear.
