Chubby stick, lip crayon, whatever you want to call it – mania continues. This relatively new S&G product is readily available at Shoppers Drug Mart and Pharmaprix locations across Canada. Before I begin on my thoughts regarding the Soap & Glory Sexy Mother Pucker Gloss Sticks, let’s get into to claims right away – shall we?
“This super-light, ultra-hydrating lip crayon glides effortlessly onto lips, leaving behind an unmissably pretty sweep of creamy, moisture-rich colour & shine, thanks to the GLOSS-FIX™ FINISH and ULTIMELT™ Lip Shine & Shaping Technology in 3 juicy shades.” – from S&G
The product is tasteless but has a sweet scent. I didn’t find the scent to be off putting. The formula is thin and feels slightly tacky when first applied. Once the product has set and the glossiness fades away, that initial tackiness disappears.
I didn’t see lip stain listed in the product claims, but the darker two that I received do indeed stain my lips once they have faded.
Soap & Glory Sexy Mother Pucker Gloss Stick Swatches
Nudist is my favourite of the three Gloss Sticks that I have tried. it’s a perfect pinky nude that I can imagine would look very nice on most light to medium skin tones. The colour pay off is great too.
Fuchsia Rustic looks anything but orange on the lips as opposed to the way it looks in the tube. I really love this shade despite the misleading colour. It’s a pretty pink which I would never describe as rustic. It gives your lips that just bitten look once it stains them. It’s great for those days when you are not wearing much makeup, because it brightens up the complexion.
Plum jam was my least favourite. The darker a lip colour is, the more opaque I need it to be and this just didn’t cut it for me. My mom who has much more pigmented lips wears this colour very nicely. Alternately, you may consider wearing this over or under a more pigmented lip product such as a lipliner. otherwise, if you like only a bit of redness added to the lips, you can wear this Gloss Stick applied lightly.
These Gloss Sticks remind me a lot of the Rimmel London Colour Rush Balm except these are a tad more sheer and they do not oxidate on my lips.
Have you tried the S&G Sexy Mother Pucker Gloss Sticks? What do you think of them?
