20 Minute Sexy Date Hair and Makeup

There’s no shortage of extravagant, albeit impractical, Valentine’s day looks on Youtube these days. Naturally, I filmed a quick look with a neutral palette, as the occasion just begs for a natural look. Here’s an easy sexy makeup and hair look for Valentine’s Day or any date really. This entire look takes about 20 minutes to complete.

Get Big Sexy Hair

Now that I’ve recently cut my hair to a manageable length, hot rollers are a dream! I’ve had this Conair Infiniti set since 2010 and they are still going strong. Not only do they save time, but they are actually much less damaging than your standard curling wand. I highly recommend having a set for women on-the-go.

All you need to do is the hot rollers in on first or second day, clean hair. After they are in, you can quickly move on to your makeup. The hot rollers should be completely cooled off by the time you are done! Take out the rollers and be sure to give the hair a quick spritz of hairspray for longer lasting curls (I used Pantene Flexible Hold).

For the face: I moisturised with the Marcelle Skin Perfector and used the reformulated Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Invisible Cover Foundation. Set the foundation with the powder of your choice, but I used the Rimmel Stay Matte pressed powder. For naturally flushed cheeks, I used the Elizabeth Arden Beautiful Color Blush in Sunblush. For an added glow, I used the gold shade in the Pro Sculpting Duo to highlight the cheek bones, bridge of the nose and cupid’s bow.

For eyes: I decided that a smokey winged eyeliner look would suffice. I like smokey lashlines because they enable you to get away with liquid eyeliner and mascara errors.

I used the good old, trusty, original Naked Palette. I choose a matte shade to deepen the crease and used my finger to apply Sidecar, as it is a glittery shadow prone to fall-out when used with a brush. Use which ever satin/metallic brown you please to accentuate the crease even more. I used Smog, but Toasted would work nicely as well. For the smokey winged liner, I used a mixture of Creep and Gunmetal along the lashline with a smudging brush. Make sure that you focus the darker colours on the outer most edges of the eye.

I did a small wing with my go-to product of the moment: Clinique Pretty Easy liquid Eyelinging Pen! It’s very easy to use and extremely inky in all the right ways without leaking or making a mess. For amazing lashes, without going false, I chase the Benefit Cosmetics Roller Lash Mascara with the PÜR Cosmetics Volume Vixen Mascara. The first will give your lashes lift and length, whereas the second with give you volume.

For lips: As boring as it sounds, I’m a sucker for a great nude pout. And let’s be honest, red or pink lipsticks are a little high-maintenance and trouble-some to make-out in!  First, I lined my lips to even out their tone with the Charlotte Tilbury Lipliner in Iconic Nude. Next, I dabbed on some Gosh Cosmetics Velvet Touch lipstick in Nude – I recommend a cream finish lipstick that suits your skin-tone. Lastly, I finished up with the Charlotte Tilbury Lip Luster in Blondie. A little bit of gloss on the centre of your lips with add dimension and the illusion of a more voluminous pout.
