The Essence Gel Nail Polishes are a no-lamp lacquer that retail for $2.99. They have a flat brush applicator and come in a range of 50 shades. These give the nails opaque coverage in 1-2 coats.
If you didn’t know already, Essence Cosmetics is a value beauty brand, with a wide collection of high-quality products at amazingly low prices that you can find at Shoppers Drugmart in Canada.
64 Island Hopping – teal
68 Free Hugs – purple/grey
70 Grey Zone – grey/pastel blue
57 Ice Cream Party – pastel orange
54 Dream On – cream
55 Be Awesome Tonight! – cool toned baby pink (not pictured above)
I’ve tested and worn 57 Ice Cream Party and 54 Dream On and found that the formula applies heavenly opaque. However, I do experience chipping after 3 days.
I believe the formula comes with a suggested top coat, which I do not have and therefore haven’t tried. I suspect the chipping is due in part to the fact that I have not tried these with a topcoat.
At this price, I think the shades are gorgeous, apply well, and even with the shorter wear-time without a topcoat, these Essence Gel Nail Polishes are well worth checking out!
Have you tried the Essence Gel Nail Polishes? Which is your favouri9te shade?
